Jaisal Noor

Jaisal Noor (he/him) is SJN's Program Manager of Training & Curriculum. He manages SJN’s democracy programming, supporting newsrooms in producing solutions-oriented reporting on the biggest challenges their communities face, rather than treating politics and government as spectacle. As program manager for the SJN-led Advancing Democracy initiative, he leads regular solutions journalism trainings, administers the Innovation Fund and hosts the monthly Democracy Peer Network. He also hosted “A Better Way to Cover Civic Life,” a free online course available on demand from the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas. He was a 2023 Maynard 200 Fellow and is a freelance multimedia journalist who regularly contributes to The Baltimore Beat, a Black-led local newspaper.
