Sharon Bloyd-Peshkin

Sharon Bloyd-Peshkin (she/her) is SJN’s Training & Curriculum Manager: She comes to the Solutions Journalism Network from Columbia College Chicago, where she was an award-winning professor of journalism and the faculty fellow for civic engagement. Since attending an SJN educators academy in 2019, Sharon has taught solutions journalism at the graduate and undergraduate levels and provided workshops for faculty at other universities in how to teach solutions journalism. She developed a solutions journalism unit for a yearlong journalism curriculum for the New York Public Schools and has done numerous presentations about solutions journalism at high school conferences. Sharon has trained newsrooms to practice solutions journalism and co-led a train-the-trainers program for SJN. She is also interested in how a solutions journalism lens applies beyond journalism, and co-authored a study about how solutions journalism is being adopted in branded content.
