We regularly see journalists find a new relationship with journalism when they start covering solutions. Recently, two pieces — one built by younger journalists, the other by a veteran reporter — traced that transformation from two distant parts of the world. Young journalists Bridget Bronsdon, Avery Martin and Valentina Toro discussed how doing solutions mental health reporting as part of CT Community News opened them up to new ways of working and seeing people. From India, Vibha Singh chronicled how her travels and participation in SJN’s Train-the-Trainers “fundamentally change[d] how [she] looked at stories, communities and even [her] role as a journalist.”
