We recently shared a new report from educators and researchers Sue Robinson, Margarita Orozco and Joshua P. Darr. In it, they found that newsrooms trained by Hearken, Trusting News and SJN were pivoting away from “horse race” political coverage toward more constructive approaches. Now, Sarah Scire from NiemanLab has unpacked the findings more deeply, including what’s still standing in the way of more systemic change and what other newsrooms can learn.
