⭐ APPLY NOW: 2026 Educators Academy
The Medill Solutions Journalism Hub and the Solutions Journalism Network are hosting an Educators Academy on June 24 and 25, in Chicago. Applications are open now, and anyone who teaches at the college level is invited to apply.
The Educators Academy is a highly engaging immersion in solutions journalism and how to teach it, including inspirational speakers, practical teaching examples, and hands-on sessions on how to design learning experiences for students. Afterwards, participants have the opportunity to join a community of educators around the country who share a passion for infusing solutions journalism into their curriculum. And SJN picks up the tab; we cover flights, hotel rooms and meals. Whether you are new to solutions journalism or already teaching it, you’re welcome to apply by the March 11 deadline.
... And stay on for the Solutions Summit
This year, there’s also a Solutions Summit the Friday after the Educators Academy, so participants can stay for another day of inspiring programming. You can read about last year’s summit here. Details about this year’s summit will be available soon. (Note: The summit is free to attend, but it will require flying out late in the day on Saturday; there is no funding for an additional night at the hotel.)
