Manuel Alejandro Guerrero is an academic and researcher in the Department of Social & Political Science at the Iberoamericana University in Mexico City and president of ORBICOM, the World Executive Committee of the UNESCO Chairs in Communication, where he leads a project on depolarizing strategies. He has over 20 years of experience designing curricula and training programs in academia and journalism. He participates in the Press & Democracy Program to professionalize young journalists in Mexico. His work focuses on how media literacy, socioemotional learning, and framing theory approaches contribute to countering “fear-inspiring communication cycles” and disinformation.
