Climate Solutions Cohort
Program Years: 2022-Current
The Climate Solutions Cohort, launched in 2022, supports journalists across the United States in reporting on responses to the climate crisis. Each year, selected fellows participate in an intensive program providing training, mentorship and funding to produce solutions-focused climate stories.
The 2024 cohort, composed of 20 journalists from diverse newsrooms, produced 60 stories on topics ranging from the clean energy transition to local climate solutions, industrial agriculture, and the intersection of faith and climate action. They also provided 30 climate solutions journalism trainings to more than 350 journalists.
Climate Hope Is On The Air
For two years, the Solutions Journalism Network and Public News Service brought stories about solutions to the climate crisis to new audiences through a digital to audio republishing partnership. In 2024, the effort reached more than 100 million listeners, including many who lack access to regular, local reporting on the climate crisis.
