The Daily Northwestern Launches Solutions Desk

The Daily Northwestern, the newspaper of Northwestern University, has launched a solutions desk! The paper is doing this as part of SJN’s 2025-26 Student Media Challenge and as an outgrowth of the school’s work as a regional Solutions Journalism Hub. Janelle Mella, the solutions editor, said she hopes readers will see that “[s]olutions can be more powerful than problems.”
