Research shows that localizing climate change impacts and solutions is an effective way to engage new audiences. Yet today, climate journalism is primarily limited to national news outlets. SJN is teaming up with MIT for the SJN/MIT Climate Journalism Fellowship, supporting 10 freelance and staff journalists based in the U.S. as they develop high-impact, locally grounded climate solutions reporting. Over 8 months, fellows will receive a $7,500 stipend, in-depth programming on climate science, policy, economics and communication, and hands-on training using the four pillars of solutions journalism.
