Sarah Francis is an Assistant Lecturer of Journalism at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Ahram Canadian University, Egypt. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Cairo University and works as a freelance journalist. She is also a certified solutions journalism trainer with the Solutions Journalism Network.


With a professional background in both local and international news reporting, Sarah previously served as an online news editor at El Watan News, one of Egypt’s leading privately-owned newspapers. She also contributed to the e-learning data journalism startup Bayanat School as a content manager, where she developed data journalism courses. Her academic research interests include international journalism, solutions journalism, news coverage, and journalistic practices. She has co-authored more than six research papers published in both Egyptian and international academic journals and has presented her work at several national and international conferences.
