Katherine Blair
Katherine Blair is an associate professor (professional practice) at Leeds Trinity University. She has taught for two decades following a 20-year career as a television journalist. Originally from Canada, she holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Carleton University as well as two master’s degrees, in creative writing and in international studies, from the University of Leeds.
Katherine began her reporting career in Canada at MCTV in Timmins and CBC in Newfoundland and Labrador before moving to the UK, where she worked as a reporter and producer at ITV Yorkshire. She teaches TV and mobile journalism, social and online media and live production, with a focus on international collaborative storytelling.
She is the founder of the Globalizer app and MOJO Hacks, as well as co-editor of “Global Journalism Collaborations: Worldwide Storytelling Projects in Higher Education” and a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
