Iqbal Fatkhi

Iqbal Fatkhi is the editor-in-chief at Cilisos Media, an independent Malaysian publication covering current affairs, history and pop culture through engaging, data-driven storytelling. Under his editorial leadership, Cilisos produces analytical video explainers and investigative coverage, including pieces on environmental protection, institutional reform and high-level corruption scandals.

As a certified trainer with HRD Corp, Malaysia’s national workforce development body, Iqbal has trained over 500 journalists, content creators and civic actors. Drawing on his background as a digital creator reaching millions of views across his videos, his workshops focus on media ethics, responsible digital storytelling and high-retention packaging, equipping creators to move away from outrage-driven content in favor of meaningful, value-added public reporting.

Iqbal earned his bachelor’s degree in law and international relations from the University of Edinburgh before launching his career in media and newsroom leadership in 2017.
