Elizabeth Hewitt

Elizabeth Hewitt is a freelance journalist and educator based in Mississippi. In her journalistic work, she often reports on intersections between environment, health and community, and contributes to outlets including Reasons to be Cheerful, Next Avenue and many others. She’s a lecturer at Mississippi State University, where she teaches news writing and reporting classes. She also works as a regional editor with the Center for Community News, which supports partnerships between university student reporting programs and local news outlets.
