Dajie Odok

Dajie Blessing Odok is an award-winning science journalist, broadcaster, trainer and science communication advocate with extensive experience in radio, environmental, agricultural and development reporting. She is the Radio Lead at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), where she leads radio programming and storytelling that connects science, agriculture, health, nutrition and environmental issues with wider audiences.

She is the Founder and Director of Editorial of TouchScience Africa, a science communication and media platform focused on making science accessible and relevant to African audiences, and the founder of the TouchScience Africa Media Academy, which supports journalists and media practitioners through practical training.

Dajie has received multiple journalism awards, including Best Radio Reporter in Nigeria, Best Science Reporter for Continental Africa and an Emerging Health Technologies Media Award of Excellence. She has participated in several journalism and professional development fellowships and training programmes, and is a 2026 fellow and President of the MIP Cohort 2026.

Her work spans science, climate change, agriculture, biodiversity, conservation, health and solutions-oriented storytelling, with a particular interest in strengthening the capacity of African journalists to communicate complex issues accurately, clearly and meaningfully.
