Catriona Forrest

Catriona’s focus is on innovation in journalism education. She leads the Masters in Media, Communication and International Journalism at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. This programme is based on the sociology of the Glasgow University Media Group, in combination with intensive training in an ethical journalism practice. Catriona has been teaching practical journalism methods on this programme since 2019, as well as developing and delivering training on media literacy and digital skills for a range of audiences. She is currently developing Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) options with international academic partners, with a focus on environmental case studies. Catriona is Head of Mentoring for Women in Journalism Scotland, leading a scheme which has seen over 100 up-and-coming journalists supported in their career development goals.
