Asha Bekidusa

Asha Bekidusa is an award-winning multimedia journalist and storyteller. She is also an adjunct lecturer at the Technical University of Mombasa in Kenya. She has more than a decade of experience in journalism reporting on public health, environmental and climate change justice, gender equity and community development, producing impactful stories that have influenced public dialogue and accountability efforts. Asha currently contributes to Willow Health Media, while also publishing with outlets including Dialogue Earth and Mongabay. Previously she worked with Royal Media Services. Her reporting has explored issues including climate change impacts on agriculture; maternal and child health; occupational health challenges among fishing communities; environmental degradation linked to extractive industries; and climate change and conservation efforts along Kenya’s coast. She holds a master’s degree in digital journalism from The Aga Khan University and a master’s degree in project planning and management from the University of Nairobi. Asha is an alumna of the Radio Netherlands Training Centre (RNTC) and Women in News, and an active member of Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (MESHA). She is passionate about solutions journalism, mentoring the next generation of reporters and advancing evidence-based storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices and drives meaningful social change across Africa.
