Climate journalist and solutions journalism trainer Yessenia Funes took her expertise to the Society of Environmental Journalists for a new piece on why solutions journalism connects deeply with alienated readers and burnt-out reporters alike. To do that, she talks to the aforementioned Colleen Hagerty, photojournalist Justin Cook and researcher Kathryn Thier. “You’ll be a better journalist [doing solutions journalism],” Funes wrote, “and you’ll sleep a little easier.”

And if you want to join a community of climate journalists interested in or already doing SoJo, the next Climate Peer Network online meetup is Thursday, Feb. 12.
