Solutions journalism in the midst of war

We were thrilled to see Reporters Without Borders recently highlighting the solutions journalism approach happening at Rubryka and Bilyayivka.city in Ukraine. In the piece, Bilyayivka.city’s editor-in-chief, Halyna Khalymonyk, discusses why solutions reporting “is one of the most demanding forms of journalism,” but explains that the outlet’s solutions stories get two to three times more views than typical stories. And Anastasia Rudenko, an accredited solutions journalism trainer and Rubryka’s founder, explains why solutions journalism has “an undeniable role to play” in Ukraine’s rebuilding.
