'Listening Rather Than Asking Questions'

Recently, two student newsrooms, both part of SJN's Student Media Challenge, wrote about the impact solutions journalism had on their newsrooms and beyond. Roger Williams University students shared why it was “so rewarding to publish stories that highlight the good that is going on in the world.” And the students behind Connecticut Community News shared how solutions reporting meant they “spent a lot of [their] time listening rather than asking questions.”
