Does Solutions Journalism "Stretch Wins"?

Mongabay’s Senegal-based director of programs David Akana recently went on a reporting trip to the Central African Republic. There he saw “remarkable places and ecotourism that is beginning to work — imperfectly, but measurably.” Reflecting on the trip, he connected with a piece of what makes solutions journalism important and found a new way to respond to a concern some journalists have. Here’s why he thinks “if we never report on what’s working, we quietly concede that nothing can.”
