Student journalists face a host of stressors, including experiencing discrimination while reporting, social media abuse, and covering violence and other traumatic events at their schools and in their communities.

Students at the School of Communication and Journalism at Stony Brook University created a guide to these issues as part of the Solutions Journalism Network's 2023-24 Student Media Challenge. The guide includes research, first-person reflections and coping strategies relevant for student and professional journalists.
