SoJo Benefits in Brazil

For years, Rio on Watch turned a spotlight on what it considered the worst reporting on Brazil's favelas. Now, it celebrates the best, and this year the organization made special mention of "a strong shift towards solutions journalism reporting on climate justice and grassroots responses by Rio’s favelas." The 2025 best-of highlights a number of solutions stories from Mongabay, NPR and other outlets.
