Javier Silas Omagor

Javier Silas Omagor, a multi-award-winning freelance journalist from Uganda with over 8 years of professional experience in broadcast, online and print journalism. Javier is passionate about science and climate emergency solutions reporting while minoring in other beats such as; politics, business, sports, human rights, water, sanitation and hygiene.

Over the last few years, Javier has been involved in mentoring and training fellow journalists in eastern Uganda and the neighboring Kenya. Javier, apparently works with the country’s leading newspaper, New Vision, and is also the founder of Jaso Media Services and Consulting Firm, which is a subsidiary of the online newsroom dubbed, Eastern News Network established in 2019.

Given his reputation, Universities and colleges in eastern Uganda and other neighboring regions occasionally invite Javier to conduct public lectures and training of the media students.
