Anna Turns is an environmental journalist and broadcaster based in the UK. With more than 20 years’ experience working in TV, magazines and radio, she is currently working as senior environment editor at The Conversation UK. She is a member of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network. She was also one of 12 journalists involved in the SJN/EJC European media leaders climate solutions fellowship in 2024-25.

She has written regularly for the Guardian, BBC Future, Positive News and many other publications, usually with a focus on the changemakers pushing for climate action or ocean conservation. In 2022, she published her first book, Go Toxic Free: Easy and sustainable ways to reduce chemical pollution with an upbeat focus on what we can all do to reduce our chemical footprints. In 2025, she presented a six-part-series on BBC radio called Secrets of the Sea making marine science accessible to all. Anna is passionate about engaging audiences through rigorous, evidence-based reporting. She firmly believes that compelling solutions journalism helps tackle misinformation and news avoidance while empowering people to visualise a greener future.
