If you time-travel to 10 years ago, the world didn’t have many solutions journalism stories. It’s hard to believe it, but the news diet consisted of mostly problems. At that time, you thought we all deserved better. A movement to transform journalism began, with a network of journalists and news outlets who were committed to telling the whole story, with evidenced-based, equitable reporting. You made journalism that empowers news audiences with insights to build a better world.
This movement turns ten years old on October 26, 2023. And we’d like you to celebrate with us!
You can do this two ways:
- Publish or broadcast a solutions journalism story (include a response, insight, evidence, and limitations of the approach) and use the hashtag #SolutionsJournalismDay on the story.
- Share a few paragraphs about why your newsroom does solutions journalism using the hashtag #SolutionsJournalismDay.
